Our Venue Accessibility Accessibility Tramshed's public spaces are fully accessible. Where possible, we advise notifying us at time of booking or signing up to one of our programmes if you need Access assistance, as this will allow us to ensure we can provide the best support possible for your visit. TRAVELLING TO THE TRAMSHED The Tramshed is located 2 minutes walk from Woolwich Arsenal Station, which has step-free access (via lifts) to DLR and National Rail services. The station also has ramps for train access. (NOTE: step free access to national rail platforms is via the DLR station entrance). For further information regarding Accessibility across London's public transport services, visit Transport for London: Accessibility. ARRIVING AT THE VENUE We have two street level entrances to the building, both located on Woolwich New Road. Our Main Entrance provides Step-Free access to our Foyer and Box Office, and our Studio Space provides Step-Free access to the rest of the building. Our Studio Space is 5 metres from our Main Entrance. Please ask our staff at Reception who will open either door for you. From our Studio Space entrance, there is Step-Free access (including permanent ramps) to the rest of the venue – including the Theatre, Studio, Bar and Toilets. The Theatre and Studio can also be accessed directly from the foyer, up a set of 4 steps, with a handrail (left hand side). ACCESSIBLE TOILETS We have an accessible Toilet, which is accessed through our Studio Space. A shallow ramp provides Step-Free access. BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE We often present performances/ events interpreted into British Sign Language, as well as work by d/Deaf artists and companies. We work closely with partner organisations to integrate signing into our performances, rather than just providing an interpreter at the side of the stage. Look out for the BSL symbol on our shows, and for more information contact us on the details below. ACCESS FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED AUDIENCES AND PARTICIPANTS Our staff have been trained by Extant Theatre to offer access support for visitors who are Visually Impaired, as well as working towards providing Enhanced Performances, Touch Tours and Audio Description on some performances. We actively encourage Visually Impaired artists and companies to connect with us and to apply for Artist Development opportunities. Tramshed's Access Contact is Jeremy James (CEO). If you have any questions about Tramshed's Accessibility, email Jeremy. ACCESS FOR ADULTS WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES (ALD) As part of Tramshed's vision for inclusion and open access we run additional programmes and activities to ensure all members of the community, including the most marginalised, have access to the arts. This includes an extensive programme of activities including REACH Theatre company and Dramatic Voices (run in partnership with?) for the Adults with Learning Difficulties (ALD) community, as well as the highly popular 'Tramtastic Nights' - a club night for the ALDcommunity.
