Sounds of the World @ Greenwich Park

 

Sounds of the World is a regular event at Tramshed that brings critically acclaimed global musicians to Woolwich, creating a platform to share live music with local audiences. Throughout its concert series, Sound of the World looks forward to bringing to light, supporting and dedicating a stage to global artists, their cultures, repertoires and stories.

This FREE event will be taking place at the Bandstand in the gorgeous Royal Greenwich Park... why not pack a picnic, grab your nearest and dearest and join us!

 

Saturday 31st July

Lose yourself in the spirit of carnival with an afternoon of Afro-Brazilian music and dances in Greenwich Park.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 isolation Let Drum Beat will no longer be performing on 31st July.  

Aleh Ferreira - a duo formed by singer/songwriter and guitarist Aleh Ferreira and percussionist/drummer Marcos Santana. Get into the Brazilian and Afro-Brazilian moods of these top quality musicians.

Pumpkin Jigsaw - Pumpkin Jigsaw is a collaborative and interdisciplinary initiative aiming to merge samba, batucada and Afro-Brazilian beats to create inclusive and immersive environments.

 

About the venue:

Greenwich Park Bandstand is located in the heart of Greenwich park, with a number of transport links provided by TFL bus and rail services, as well as parking sites within the park. 

Access to the performance site is all flat-level pedestrianised, just off of Great Cross avenue in the centre of the park; when enjoying the performance you can stand, bring your own chair, or sit down on the ground (please note, this site is on grass). 

No food or drink will be sold old onsite, however there are a number of amenities in the surrounding area, including the Pavillion Café. 

The nearest loos for your convenience are the North toilets by the Pavillion café, which are only a 2 minute walk away. 

Please note the space is outdoors, so check the weather to dress accordingly! 

 

A welcoming afternoon of exceptional music and cultural exchange. Open to all and everyone.
