We are auditioning performers aged 16 to 25yrs to create an outdoor show using the art of Commedia dell’Arte. There will be 11 shows in 3 different sites in Greenwich.
The Performers will work with our Commedia specialist and Progression Creative Producer Andre Pink, a professional designer and other members of the Tramshed team. This a training opportunity working at a high level with Commedia & masks whilst devising a show, which will be partly structured and partly improvised.
Performers will be paid daily expenses (£10/day)
THE PROJECT: Tramshed Presents: Commedia dell’Arte
Commedia dell’Arte is an artform where masked and non-masked characters created chaos and havoc telling stories with OTT plotlines. Commedia speaks to the here & now as much as it did in its heydays in Italy a long time ago where it came from. Commedia dell’Tramshed aims to reinvent Commedia with a company of emerging performers and presenting 11 outdoor shows in the borough of Greenwich.

Progression is the Tramshed’s Artist Development programme with opportunities for artists at the beginning of their career in the performing arts with 2 strands: Skills and Making Performance Work.

Performances:
8 Shows in Greenwich Park: 24, 25, 31 July and 01 Aug, 1pm & 3 pm
3 Shows in Garrison Church: 29 Jul, 1pm & 3 pm and 30 Jul, 3 pm
1 Street intervention at General Gordon Square: 31 Jul, 11 am
No previous knowledge of Commedia is needed.
