We are hosting evening with a live performance, a film screening and Q&A all in support of raising money for our adults with learning differences creative programme.

Our very own Reach Theatre Company will be premiering their ‘Whodunnit’ production. Featuring and original script written one of our participants, expect a show that is part drama, part comedy, part musical. Bring your mystery solving skill for this whodunnit for the ages!

The show will be preceded by the screening of award-winning film 'Hedgehog' starring Reach's Tansy Smethurst and directed by her father Adam Smethurst. A drama raising awareness around the condition Neurofibromatosis type 1, the film centres the story of a father and daughter, their bond and living with a chronic health condition. The screening will be concluded with a brief Q&A with Tansy and Adam.

All proceeds from the tickets will go directly to funding the Tramshed's Adults with Learning Differences (ALD) programme.

What is Our ALD Programme?

Our ALD programmes is a massive part of our family here at Tramshed. Our main programme is made up of Reach, a adults with learning disabilities theatre company which meets on Monday nights and has been running for nearly ; Dramatic Voices Theatre Company and Dramatic Voices Sessions who meet Wednesdays and Fridays; and our bi-monthly Tramtastic Club Nights which is a safe space for adults with learning disability to dance and make friends.

“We support up to 116 adults with learning disabilities a week. Last year we served over 225 users and carers with adults with learning disability and profound disability.” Joe Cocklin, Head of Creative Programming and Partnerships. “This is a group in society that is traditionally isolated and underserved. What we try to provide here at Tramshed is an alternative, a Theatre a place for Adults with Learning Differences to belong and a place for them to feel like they contribute and that they are seen and heard.”

What Is The Money For?

Our programme wouldn't be possible without our amazing funders; The Henry Smith Foundation, BASF and the Peter Harris Trust. The Peter Harris Trust have recently donated to us and they promised to donate another amount of £5,000 if we are able to match fund that amount. BASF have generously provided £2,000 worth of sponsorship, so we're looking to raise an additional £3,000 in order to activate the match funding and secure our important work.

This event is just the start of our journey to raise the necessary funds. We will also be taking donations on our Just Giving page until 31 August, so you do not need to buy a ticket to contribute.
