Tramshed is the Creative Programming Partner for the Cultural Impact Award 2026/27

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has been awarded a Cultural Impact Award, a Mayor of London initiative. Between December 2025 and March 2027, Tramshed will be the Creative Programme Partner, and we want to work with you over the next 6 months to design 4 incredible brand-new art events! We are recruiting for two groups known as Steering Boards to learn about and plan these events. You could help shape and produce this exciting new programme, while getting paid and build your future in the creative industries

Are you aged 13 to 30? Do you live or go

to school in the Royal Borough of

Greenwich? Are and passionate about

creativity, culture or heritage?
 

What you’ll gain: 

  • Real paid experience in creating high profile arts events 

  • Leadership skills and credits to boost your CV and/or creative portfolio 

  • Increased confidence in your creative ideas and communication skills – you'll be in the driving seat! 

  • Work experience and mentoring with some of UK's top cultural organisations 

  • Creative industry connections and networking opportunities  

  • A chance to apply for one of four longer term paid Emerging Producer roles, which will deliver this high-profile project at the end of the Steering Board process (19 to 30 group) 

The Fine Print 

We're creating two Steering Boards: 

  • 13-18s  

  • 19 -30s  

Both groups will help develop and co-create the event programme across the borough, gaining valuable experience, skills, and industry connections. 

We understand that some young people currently have fewer routes into a creative career.  Everyone living or going to school in Royal Borough of Greenwich is welcome to apply but we will especially welcome applications from people who meet one or more of the following criteria: 

  • You currently are in or have been in care 

  • You receive free school meals 

  • You live in a household that receives benefits for living costs, including Universal Credit; Child Tax Credit; Free School Meals; Housing Benefit; Income Support; Income-based Job Seekers Allowance. 

  • You identify as being disabled 

  • You identify as global majority 

13-18 Steering Board members, will need to available to attend the following sessions: 

  • Thursday 15 January, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 22 January, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 29 January, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 5 February, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 12 February, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 26 February, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 5 March 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 12 March, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 19 March, 4–6pm 

  • Thursday 26 March, 4–6pm 

In addition:

During February Half Term (16–20 February 2026), 13-18 Steering Board members will be paid to take part in some amazing interactive sessions and workshops with a number of leading cultural organisations to learn new skills and connect with inspiring professionals.

Steering Board members under 18 will be paid at the UK Minimum Wage rate (currently £7.55 per hour). Steering Board members over 18 will be paid at the London Living Wage rate (currently £14.80 per hour).  The total number of paid hours for the 13-18 group will be 20 hours and 32 hours for the 19-30 group.

19-30 Steering Board members will need to be available to attend the following sessions: 

  • Tuesday 13 January 1-5pm 

  • Tuesday 20 January 1-5pm  

  • Tuesday 17 February 1-5pm 

  • Tuesday 24 February 1-5pm 

  • Tuesday 3 March 1-5pm 

  • Tuesday 10 March 1-5pm 

  • Tuesday 17 March 1-5pm

  • Tuesday 24 March, 1-5pm

In addition: 

19-30 Steering Board members will also be offered a minimum of 5 days' work experience each with some amazing cultural organisations, across weeks commencing 26 January, 2 February and 9 February. We’ll be flexible to fit around your work/study commitments.  

In February 2026, 19-30 Steering Board members will also be invited to apply for 4 x paid roles as Emerging Producers helping to deliver the programme’s festivals and events.

If you’re shortlisted, group interviews will take place during the weeks commencing 5 January 2026 for the steering board sessions to start week commencing 12 January 2026.
