Tramshed is recruiting for 2 new roles to co-lead our Participation programme. Each role is

  • Part Time (0.6) 22.5 hours per week

    Contract Type: Fixed Term to 31.3.27 with opportunity to renew

  • £33,000 pa pro rata

  • Reporting to Head of Creative Programme and Partnerships

  • Responsible for Programme Facilitators, Volunteers, Placements and Work Experience

Successful candidates will focus on their strand of work to

  • Understand and deliver the vision of Tramshed activities through participation to inspire, involve and grow

  • Project manage the facilitated Tramshed Participation programmes that take place at Tramshed venue in Woolwich and across the Borough of Greenwich

  • Develop the strands of the Participation programme, identifying areas of need, including new ways of engaging with people considering and acting to remove barriers to access to the Tramshed community

  • Co-lead safeguarding for Tramshed with in house support from our experienced team and supervision

Freelance Communications and Marketing Consultant

• Part Time (1-2 days per week)

• Fixed term to April 2027

• £8,000 (inclusive of all costs, approx. 40 Days)

• Commissioning Organisation: Royal Borough of Greenwich (Culture Team) in partnership with Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust (RGHT) and Tramshed  

• Contract Type: Freelance, Line Managed by Tramshed 

About the Project  

The Mayor of London has awarded the Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) a Cultural Impact Award (CIA) as part of the London Borough of Culture programme. Working in partnership with Tramshed and Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust (RGHT), this skills development programme will empower young people to shape a year-long celebration of local heritage, creativity and community. Tramshed is recruiting and facilitating 2 paid Steering Boards of young people aged 13-18 and 19-30. With mentorship from experienced professionals, they will co-create and deliver events and large-scale cultural moments based on local stories. Read more about the Cultural Impact Award.

The Role 

To design and deliver a marketing strategy for the CIA programme and outdoor events. The role holder will ensure strong and consistent storytelling throughout the programme across digital platforms and physical media throughout the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The role holder will also work closely with the local authorities of the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the Greater London Authority to ensure all marketing and messaging is compliant with the CIA overall messaging and brand.  

We anticipate the role holder will work a maximum of two days per week, with more days weighted to the start of the project. Payment structure to be agreed with successful candidate.  

Main Duties 

Create marketing strategy for CIA programme and events, to be presented for approval from RBG and Tramshed. 

  • Manage marketing budget including planning all advertising and promotional partnerships, print and distribution etc.  

  • Create and deliver organic content strategy including input from programme participants and producers 

  • Regularly update and liaise with Tramshed Marketing Manager on campaign progress 

  • Maintain campaign calendar that includes lead in times for approval from stakeholders

Technician

• Full Time

• Fixed term to 31.3.27 with potential to renew

• £30,000 per annum

• January/ February start date preferred

• Reporting to Head of Operations

• Liaising with Hires and Events Coordinator and programming team 

 

The Role 

The Tramshed Technician will be responsible for the use and maintenance of all technical equipment, including arranging repairs and replacement as appropriate. This will involve liaising with Senior Team Members to inform budget and engaging outside contractors for servicing and consultancy.

The right candidate will be involved with Tramshed’s creative planning, looking for an opportunity to use our facilities to develop their knowledge and innovation and increase opportunities for cultural choices in Woolwich. 

Main Duties 

• Join programming and operations meetings to ensure good technical sits at the heart of planning and proposals

• Seek out opportunities to use our equipment and expertise to enhance Tramshed programme

• Ensure that set up of sound, lighting and projection equipment is maintained in a way that is useable for incoming companies, reset after events

• Support freelance technicians in appropriate use of the equipment and systems

• Identify requirements for freelance staff to support technical duties, including rigging, maintenance and event support

• Carry out or help plan regular safety checks of equipment including visual checks of flown lighting sound and circus kit & Pat testing of electrical equipment across the building

• Liaise with incoming artists, communities and hirers, ensuring that their technical and production needs are supported

• Ensure safe and efficient storage of equipment and materials

• Arrange repairs and servicing to equipment and carry out smaller maintenance tasks where appropriate
