Tramshed invite you to an evening of short performances, tours and conversations with the Tramshed team and Tramshed Ambassador, the globally renowned author of the Alex Rider novels, Anthony Horowitz.
We are celebrating the opening of our brand-new spaces launching our Tramshed Friend scheme, a new initiative that lets you support our work with creative communities in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and wider south-east London.
About Tramshed
For over 50 years we have worked young people on south-east London, running youth drama classes and other creative activities. Initially called Greenwich Young People’s Theatre (GYPT) and later Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre (GLYPT) we took on our current name after moving into the Tramshed, a locally listed building in the heart of Woolwich with a history as a home of live music, comedy and theatre.
Today, Tramshed offer performing arts programmes for young people and for adults with learning disabilities. We are also home to numerous and diverse community groups. Tramshed is the Creative Programming Partner for the Cultural Impact Award 2026/27. We are working with 25 young people aged 13-30 from across the Royal Borough of Greenwich, delivering paid Steering Board roles to springboard their careers in the creative industries.
Become Our Friend
The Tramshed Friend scheme is your way to support our work here in the heart of Woolwich. Tramshed runs drama based programmes for young people and Adults with Learning Differences, hosts theatre, comedy and live music, holds rehearsal spaces for local creatives and is home base for numerous local community and creative organisations. Become a Friend is a way to say that you want our work to continue. Whether you have been a participant, seen shows in our building or simply share our mission, you can show your support from as little as £10/month. There will be more information about the Tramshed Friend scheme on the night.
About The Evening
On the night there will be drinks and light refreshments, performances throughout our different spaces and you will be able to speak to the Tramshed team about what we do and how we can work together in the future. Our spaces will be open and you will be able to make enquiries about long and short term hires. You will also be able to speak directly to use about the wide range of ways you can work with us and support Tramshed into another 50 years of delivering creative projects and spaces for our communities. You do not have to arrive at 5:00pm and stay for the whole event - you can drop in and take in as much of the performances, spaces and information as you need.
NB, please do book your free ticket by Tuesday 24 March to let us know you will be coming.
